Life

I have been kinda quiet lately. I recovered from the flu only to find myself knee deep in a cold a few weeks later. After recovering from my cold it was a matter of days before I was getting afternoon fevers. This has caused me to nap whenever Kaylee naps (she is down to one nap a day. Eeek!) and has left me with very little me time which means very little blogging time.

In other news I turned 29 on the third and although I don't particularly like my birthday (I know, I know, CFers are supposed to LOVE their birthday, but honestly I hate growing older with this disease), but I love the gift my wonderful brother gave me- a juicer! He has been juicing for years and I asked him to borrow his juicer to see if I can boost my vitamin levels and possible shake this sickness that keeps following me around. Well, he bought me my very own and I am happy to say I am juicing everyday and even my husband is a fan.

Okay, that is all I have for today. Rather dull, but I am in a blogging slump I guess.

  1. IH,

The important thing in life is you spending time with Kaylee!! I have never juiced before but glad you are staying at it everyday.

On the birthday front I think growing older with this disease is a sign of you staying committed to your health. It shows you that you are defying the odds every single day you get out of bed. I know there is that average age out there but I think it is all goofy. There are so many people living well past that age. We are on the brink of the vertex pill coming out for all double delta F508's and you are in that group. I know it is really hard to think about things in the future but nothing is ever guaranteed to anyone with or without a disease. Live in the present and put your best foot forward tackling this disease :) I know you do that on a daily basis and that is all we can do, our BEST!!!

    1. I know I should be more optimistic about it! And you are right that I will qualify for the drugs that will hopefully be out in 2015ish. Thanks for the reminder to stay positive.

  2. Juicing is fun. There are tons of delicious fruit/veg combo recipes on the net. I hope that getting into the habit of doing this for your health, knowing that you're establishing another healthy routine, will give you a lift. What a very sweet brother you have! So many people are waiting on VX-809. Stay strong, love your family, & happy birthday!

    1. So far I love juicing. I have been trying a few different recipes and so far I like them all. I agree 100% that adding a positive change to my health routine does give me a sense of control and a lift in my spirits. I so hope the drugs coming out will be as good as we hope!! Hugs.
